USA: countries eligible for the H-2A and H-2B temporary visa programs (Agricultural and non-agricultural)

The H-2A and H-2B visa programs in the USA are designed for temporary or seasonal workers in the agricultural and non-agricultural sectors, respectively. These programs allow employers to fill labor shortages in these industries and provide opportunities for foreign workers to gain valuable experience working in the United States.

The list of eligible countries for the H-2A and H-2B programs can change over time, but as of 2021, the countries eligible for the H-2A program include:

The Dominican Republic, Moldova, and Paraguay are eligible to participate in the H-2A program but they are not eligible to participate in the H-2B program.

Mongolia and the Philippines are eligible to participate in the H-2B program but are not eligible to participate in the H-2A program.

It’s important to note that the above list is not exhaustive, and the U.S. government may add or remove countries from the list of eligible countries as it sees fit. Also, the requirements and quotas for these programs are subject to change each year.
