Who is eligible for the Scholarship?

  1. If you are a U.S. citizen currently living outside of the United States and will be studying outside of the United States, you are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
  2. If you are a U.S. citizen currently living in the United States and will be studying outside of the United States, you are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
  3. You must have a minimum GPA of 3.8 (on a scale of 1.0 to 4.0).

How and when will scholarship funds be distributed?

  • The Scholarship initiative is open and ongoing, you can apply at any time.
  • Scholarship funds, of at least $1,000, are distributed directly to your accredited university on your behalf.
  • Scholarships are awarded just before the spring and fall academic cycles, namely in December and July. (Application deadlines for December/Spring scholarships are November 1st and application deadlines for July/Fall scholarships are June 1st).
  • Note: 1040 Abroad scholarships are not available for summer study programs.
